This rare item features a high-quality mono soundboard recording of a live performance at Keystone Berkeley, a small club in Berkeley, California, on February 12, 1983, as part of The Breaking Point Tour, which coincided with the release of his seventh solo album, “Zombie Birdhouse,” released on Blondie bassist Chris Stein’s label after his major label contract expired. While the mono recording appears to have been taken directly from the mixing board, it offers exceptional clarity and a rough mix that enhances the rawness and powerful sound image. While the Baton Rouge performance the following day appears on the official “Where the Face Shine Vol. 2” release, this release also features tracks not heard at the Baton Rouge show, including “Ordinary Bummer,” the encore tracks “Louie Louie,” “Hang On Sloopy,” and “Hassles.” The set features Blondie guitarist Frank Infante, former Criminals member Michael Page, and The Untouchables, who also performed in Japan that year, continuing on from the previous year’s “Zombie Birdhouse Tour.” The set list featured six songs from the previous year’s “Zombie Birdhouse,” keeping the audience excited from start to finish, and the superb performance was accompanied by a powerful sound!
