Description
In 1979, Ian Hunter was on the brink of great success, having released the masterpiece “Instigator of Violence” with his friend Mick Ronson. This soundboard album will let you experience the live performance right in your mind.
This work was recorded at the “June 12, 1979 Rosslyn Concert.” It is a stereo soundboard recording. Speaking of the 1979 live performance, the official traditional album “WELCOME TO THE CLUB” is undoubtedly the most iconic, and the 30th anniversary deluxe edition of “Instigator of Violence” also included a live disc. However, this work is a completely different performance that does not overlap with any of those. To understand the situation, let’s first take a bird’s-eye view of the band’s activities at the time.

[Newly discovered pre-FM master that updates the highest peak]
This is Ian Hunter in 1979. The final performance was at Hammersmith Odeon in his native England, but all the others were North American only. This Roslyn performance was the second performance of the tour, earlier than any of the official live works.
This show is also known for being broadcast on FM, and this is the latest and greatest update. It was digitized directly from the recently released pre-FM soundboard master. In fact, the sound is the best ever. Compared to the official “WELCOME TO THE CLUB,” there is a vividness to the mix balance, but the taste of the soundboard, where all the instruments are super clear and beautifully separated, is fully open.
Above all, it’s beautiful. As a pre-FM master that has never even been on the airwaves, let alone dubbing traces, there is no reception noise or distortion like with conventional masters, and the whole thing is smooth, glossy, and extremely stable. Even though it’s a pre-FM soundboard, the cheers are neatly mixed, and you can really enjoy the dense heat of a club gig.
[A masterpiece that pairs with WELCOME TO THE CLUB]
Such a superb pre-FM sound is depicted in a stage that is similar but not identical to “WELCOME TO THE CLUB”. Let’s organize it by comparing it with the “Instigator of Violence” Delaedi live disc.

In contrast to the edited album “WELCOME TO THE CLUB,” which was compiled from multiple performances at the end of the tour, this work is a soundboard album that was shot in one take at the second performance that just started. Despite the contrasting environments, this is a new masterpiece from the golden age that pairs with the official masterpiece. Please enjoy the highest peak updated sound that is only possible with a pre-FM master.
★ Stereo soundboard recording of the “Roslyn Performance on June 12, 1979.” This is the highest peak update, digitized directly from the pre-FM soundboard master, and the entire album is smooth, glossy, and extremely stable. “Life After Death” and “Ships,” which are not included in “WELCOME TO THE CLUB,” are also delicious, making this a new masterpiece from the golden age that pairs with the official work.
