Released on the Yard Stick label, this unofficial double CD features a vintage radio broadcast of Mike Oldfield’s concert at Westfelenhalle 1 in Dortmund, Germany, on October 5, 1984, during the promotional tour for his ninth studio album, “Discovery.” Opening with the title track from 1979’s “Platinum” and the second part of the “Tubular Bells” suite, the show features the entire new album, including the singles “To France” and “Tricks Of The Light,” before reprising the English guitarist and multi-instrumentalist’s greatest hits, “Moonlight Shadow” and “Shadow On The Wall,” in the final part. Throughout the “Discovery Tour” Oldfield (guitar and bass) was joined by Phil Spalding (guitar, bass and backing vocals), Mickey Simmonds (keyboards and vocoder), Harald Zuschrader (Fairlight CMI), Simon Phillips (drums and percussion), Maggie Reilly (vocals) and Barry Palmer (vocals).
