Capitol Theatre, Port Chester, NY, USA 8th October 2015 PRO-SHOT
★First-ever professional shot footage!
Since its renovation in 2012, the Capitol Theatre in Port Chester has been thrilling fans worldwide with the question of how many professional shots of the venue’s lobby it possesses.
In particular, the fall of 2015 saw performances by artists like Jackson Browne and Robert Plant, and the resulting footage was so well-produced that it could easily have been officially released.
The Joe Walsh release this time is also an astonishing professional shot, capturing his performance at the Capitol Theatre in October 2015 with image quality and content that is almost at the level of an official live video.
Since releasing his latest album to date, “ANALOG MAN,” in 2012, Walsh has been actively performing live. However, despite this, there has been no comprehensive official release of live footage; only a few live tracks were included in the deluxe edition of the album.
However, this time the entire live performance was recorded, and the picture and sound quality are perfect. It’s so impressive that it makes you wonder what kind of filming equipment the Capitol Theatre has to be able to capture such magnificent footage.
The audio is essentially a soundboard recording of the PA output, so the sense of presence is somewhat diminished, but you can still get a sense of how exciting the live performance was.
Also, since the footage is from 10 years ago, Walsh’s looks are undeniably youthful. However, when it comes to introducing the band members, he reads out the names written on a piece of paper he’s been given, which isn’t exactly funny, but as he does so, he gets more and more excited and starts to goof around, which is typical of him.
Also, the frequent appearances of drummer Joe Vitale, who has a long-standing relationship with Walsh, right behind him should be appealing to fans.
In fact, Walsh, while escalating the introductions of the band members, still makes sure to introduce him last.
And what’s truly wonderful is the performance itself. In a very relaxed atmosphere, Walsh plays and sings to his heart’s content. The sudden switch to a more modern, programmed section midway through the familiar “Funk #49” is something you’d only see on stage during this period.
The entire concert featured a magnificent setlist, evenly distributed from James Gang to the Eagles. It truly deserved to be called “The Best of Joe Walsh.”
Above all, this video is a shocking discovery that completely serves as a substitute for the still-unseen release of a complete collection of live footage!
