GEORGE HARRISON – PORTRAIT OF A BOOTLEG (3 CD)

Description

　George contributed a song called “Run So Far” to Eric Clapton’s album “Journeyman,” where he contributed guitar and vocals. His own version was included on the posthumously released “Brainwashed.” However, during his lifetime, he spoke in an interview about his plans to release an omnibus album of his own unreleased material, including a cover of the song.
　When asked by a reporter what he would call this completely original album, George revealed a notepad in the corner of the mixing console. On it was a sketch of the outline of a human ankle, with the words “Portrait of a Leg End” written on it. If this compilation album of unreleased songs had been realized during George’s lifetime, it might have been titled “Portrait of a Leg End” instead of “Brainwashed.”
　When the reporter smiled at the witty title, George’s eyes lit up and he added: “Maybe I should paint a boot on this foot for a box set of old demos, outtakes, and unreleased material. I’ll call it ‘Portrait of a Boot Leg.'”

　This album features George’s old demos, outtakes, and unreleased material. It’s rare these days to see such a collection of never-before-heard recordings. This sturdy pressing comes with a beautiful picture disc for permanent preservation.
