BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN – JERSEY DEVIL (LP)

Description

Released in six different versions, each featuring a different front image and with vinyl pressed in a variety of colors, this unofficial “collector’s edition” LP is a limited edition (104 copies for each variant) and hand-numbered, published by Trade Mark Of Quality and contains the recording of a show by Steel Mill, a band that featured some future members of the E Street Band alongside Bruce Springsteen. This is the concert that took place on June 22, 1970 at the Clearwater Swim Club in Atlantic Highlands, New Jersey (and not the 21st, as announced on the poster: the outdoor show had to be postponed to the following day due to heavy and persistent rain): in front of around four thousand people – the largest audience Springsteen had performed in front of up to that point – Bruce (vocals and guitar), Danny Federici (organ), Stevie Van Zandt (bass) and Vini Lopez (drums) performed a set in which, in addition to original compositions by the bandleader (“He’s Guilty (The Judge Song)”, “The Train Song”, “Going Back To Georgia”, “Sweet Melinda”), they proposed pieces recovered from the Castiles’ repertoire (“Baby I”, “That’s What You Get”) and covers of famous songs such as “Purple Haze” (Jimi Hendrix) and “Jambalaya” (Hank Williams). It goes without saying that you need to hurry to get one of the few copies we have.
