★First-ever appearance of this soundboard!!

The highly anticipated Port Chester soundboard discovery series now includes a Peter Frampton edition! A superb, official-quality release is set to be released!! This release features a recording of the “Port Chester concert on June 1, 2016.” This is the first ever soundboard recording of that concert (although it’s circulating online as being from 2012, the correct date is 2016).

Currently, previously unreleased soundboard recordings from the legendary Capitol Theatre in the 2010s are being unearthed one after another. While the artists’ genres vary, the direct sound, always directly connected to the mixing console, is shocking and is thrilling collectors around the world almost every week. We have introduced new masterpieces from various bands and artists in the past, and this release is the Peter Frampton edition of this noteworthy series.

Many people might remember 2016 as the year of the release of “ACOUSTIC CLASSICS” by Frampton. However, what flows from this album is not an acoustic performance, but an electric rock show with a full band. It is packed with high-energy live performances, similar to the 2012 official live album “FCA!35 TOUR: AN EVENING WITH PETER FRAMPTON”. First, let’s take a look at the overview of his activities at the time and confirm the position of this album.

– January 22-24: Rock Legends Cruise (3 shows)
[ACOUSTIC CLASSICS released February 26]
– February 29 – March 27: North America #1 (15 shows)
– April 27 – June 18: North America #2 (22 shows) ←★HERE★
– July 9 – August 26: North America #3 (22 shows)
– September 30 – October 22: North America #4 (9 shows)

[Despite being a direct-to-board setup, it delivers a stunning, official-quality sound]
This is Peter Frampton in 2016. He was actively performing live throughout the 2010s, playing around 70 concerts. This Port Chester performance was the 10th show of his “North America #2” tour, approximately four months after the release of ‘ACOUSTIC CLASSICS’.

The sound of this album, which conveys such a show, is the same direct-to-mix-board style as the series, but this time it has reached another level. The separation is intensely vivid, and the contours of each instrument stand out clearly. Every single line of the fluid phrases drawn by Frampton’s guitar, the overlapping of the side guitar and keyboards woven by Adam Lester and Rob Arthur, the distinct groove of Stanley Sheldon’s bassline, the sharp spatial feel created by Dan Wojczewski’s drums—nothing blends together, but each asserts its place in the ear. Just like the recently highly acclaimed DURAN DURAN edition, this is a finish that should be called “fully official quality,” surpassing “unearthed official quality.” In fact, if you play this on random with the 2012 official live album “FCA!35 TOUR: AN EVENING WITH PETER FRAMPTON,” you won’t be able to tell which is which.

[A fantastic electric full show featuring rare cover songs]
This 2-hour and 34-minute selection of classic tracks can be enjoyed with a sound that’s on par with official releases. The setlist is a condensed version of his glorious career, centered around his greatest hits from his 70s solo career. As mentioned earlier, the official release “FCA! 35 TOUR” is famous when it comes to Frampton in the 2010s, so let’s organize the setlist while comparing them.

● 70s Solo (12 songs)
– Wind of Change: It’s A Plain Shame / All I Want To Be Be (Is By Your Side) / Wind Of Change
– Frampton’s Camel: Lines On My Face / Do You Feel Like We Do
– Something’s Happening: Baby (Somethin’s Happening) / Doobie Wah / I Wanna Go To The Sun
– Frampton: Show Me The Way / Penny For Your Thoughts / (I’ll Give You) Money / Baby, I Love Your Way
● Others (10 songs)
– Fingerprints: Boot It Up / Double Nickels / Float / Black Hole Sun
– Others: Rebel Rebel (★) / Peggy Sue (★) / Hummingbird In A Box (★) / Off The Hook / Four Day Creep / While My Guitar Gently Weeps
*Note: “★” indicates an official release, ‘FCA!35 TOUR: AN EVENING WITH A song that wasn’t on the album ‘PETER FRAMPTON’.

…and so it goes. The selection of songs is carefully chosen, including not only the three major classics “Show Me The Way,” “Baby, I Love Your Way,” and “Do You Feel Like We Do,” but also songs from early 70s albums such as “WIND OF CHANGE” and “FRAMPTON’S CAMEL,” and it really touches the heartstrings. There’s the deep lyricism of “Lines On My Face,” the light groove of “Doobie Wah,” and the beauty of the flow from “Penny For Your Thoughts” to “I Wanna Go To The Sun.”

And the inclusion of songs not present in the ‘FCA!35 TOUR’ is a real treat. “Hummingbird In A Box” from their 2014 album is a nice addition, but even better are the covers, with David Bowie’s “Rebel Rebel” and Buddy Holly’s “Peggy Sue,” as well as Soundgarden’s “Black Hole Sun” and The Beatles’ “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” solidifying key moments. This approximately 154-minute performance is a condensed showcase of the depth and breadth of their long career.

This is the Peter Frampton edition of the Port Chester soundboard discovery series. With sound quality so good it could easily be mistaken for an official live recording, this approximately 154-minute full live album covers everything from classic 70s hits to ambitious covers. A must-have for any collection, this is the first-ever soundboard album. Please enjoy it to the fullest.
