Description

Three unofficial, limited-edition LPs pressed on pink vinyl reproduce the PBS broadcast of the famous and controversial free concert held by Pink Floyd on 15 July 1989 in Venice on a barge moored in the St. Mark’s Basin and in front of two hundred thousand spectators. The discs reproduce the entire performance given by David Gilmour, Nick Mason and Richard Wright with Jon Carin (keyboards, sound effects, vocals), Tim Renwick (guitars and backing vocals), Guy Pratt (bass and vocals), Scott Page (saxophone, additional guitars), Gary Wallis (percussion, keyboards, vocals) and backing vocalists Rachel Fury, Durga McBroom and Lorelei McBroom, reduced for television needs to just ninety minutes and 14 songs instead of the usual 23: opened by Part I of “Shine On You Crazy Diamond”, the setlist initially focuses on the album “A Momentary Lapse Of Reason” offering in the second part the great classics taken from “The Dark Side Of The Moon”, “Wish You Were Here” and “The Wall”.
