Description
A high-quality stereo soundboard remix of a live performance by Jonathan Richman’s Modern Lovers in Berkeley, California in 1972, remixed with the latest AI!~
The Modern Lovers, formed in 1970 by Jonathan Richman with future Talking Heads member Jerry Harrison, among others, present a live performance at the Long Branch Saloon in Berkeley, California, on April 21, 1972. This recording features a high-quality stereo soundboard recording, remixed with state-of-the-art AI technology. While only two unremixed tracks were previously included on the French CD “Live At Longbranch Saloon” in 1992 and the same label’s previously released “I CAN TAKE A VACANT STARE <UPGRADE EDITION / UNREISSUED SESSIONS 1971-1973> (TOTH2952),” this release features the full 10 tracks. While the original master sounded mono with limited separation, the latest AI technology has separated and balanced each part, resulting in a clearer, more expansive sound quality. The setlist, which included the Modern Lovers, who opened for the New York Dolls, and a cover of the Velvet Underground’s “Foggy Notion,” was a truly superb performance, with the audience cheering with a sense of realism and power! This recording also features a live performance at the Mercer Arts Center in New York on December 31st of the same year. This recording is also included on the same label’s previously released “Radcliffe College 72 plus (TOTH2345),” but this release features an AI-remixed version. Because it was recorded with an audience, there are no dramatic changes like in the Berkeley performance, but the sound quality is clearer.
