Description
In March 1970, Miles Davis’ first live performance at Fillmore East took place over two days (two shows per day), totaling four shows.
The second day, March 7th, was officially released as “Live At Fillmore East,” but this release features a previously unreleased first day performance, digitally remastered in 24-bit from a master-quality stereo soundboard source. This exceptional release offers a glimpse into the
monumental performance that marked the beginning of the 1970s, a decade of full-scale electric music, just before Wayne Shorter’s departure.
The meticulous remastering by the acclaimed Hannibal label has brought the sound to life with a vibrant, high-quality sound, with sharper definition of each instrument, especially Miles’ trumpet, and even subtle noise completely eliminated, making this a truly definitive release.
Additionally, as a bonus track, the album includes the 7-inch vinyl “Friday Miles” and “Saturday Miles” promos, also digitally remastered in 24-bit for high-quality sound.
This rare promo captures the essence of the so-called “Friday Miles” and “Saturday Miles” events, which took place again at Fillmore East three months after the main album.
This 7-inch, edited by Teo Macero himself, is being released on CD for the first time, making it a must-listen for fans, rivaling the main album.
Of course, this release is also available on a permanently archived press CD, so don’t miss out!
