Description
Ginásio do Gigantinho, Porto Alegre, Brazil 1 February 1983
A new masterpiece has been added to the newly excavated soundboard series, which imprints never-before-heard live performances into your mind. Two lengthy live albums that will rewrite the standards of the series in one fell swoop are being released simultaneously!
This work permanently preserves the “Porto Alegre, February 1, 1983” performance. It is a superb stereo soundboard recording that significantly updates the longest record to date. If you have read this article, you will know that a huge number of soundboards are being excavated continuously, but in fact, most of them are incomplete versions full of cuts. There are very few that are recorded almost in full. This work is a shocking work that is the longest in the series, even among such few long recordings. It is the birth of a new masterpiece that will make you say “First of all, this!”, putting aside many masterpieces!
The meter suddenly went off the charts. Cooling my head, let’s start with the show’s position. As always, let’s approach the position of this work from the summary of activities at that time.

This is an overview of activities during the “DIVER DOWN” era. The usual “HIDE YOUR SHEEP Tour” accompanying the new album ended in 1982, and in 1983 the band embarked on their only South American tour, the “NO PROBLEM Tour,” which concluded with a historic appearance at the “US Festival.” The 1983 “NO PROBLEM Tour” is currently in the midst of being newly discovered. Let’s take a closer look at the dates and check out the collection so far.

This work, recorded at such a show, is also the longest record, as mentioned above. Most of the newly excavated soundboards to date have been “one 90-minute tape (total length around 94 minutes),” but this work was recorded on “two 90-minute tapes.” In fact, this is the fourth work to be recorded on two tapes, but this is the longest of them all. Here, we will list the four works over 100 minutes and their recording times.
[Over 100 Minutes Long Soundboard 4]
■ “North America #1”
109 minutes 47 seconds: FORT WAYNE 1982 (Zodiac 780)
105 minutes 18 seconds: ROCKFORD 1982 (Zodiac 783)
■ “South America”

*116 minutes 32 seconds: PORTO ALEGRE 1983 1ST NIGHT ←★This work★
… and so on. It surpasses the previous longest-running #1 album, “FORT WAYNE 1982 SOUNDBOARD,” by about 7 minutes. It instantly became the No. 1 album in the series. Of course, the number of songs on this album is also overwhelming. The set itself is identical to the simultaneously released “RIO DE JANEIRO 1983 2ND NIGHT SOUNDBOARD,” but let’s reiterate it here.
●Fuse of Fire (6 songs)
– Runnin’ With the Devil / Jamie’s Cryin’ / Little Dreamer (★) / Ice Cream Man / Ain’t Talkin’ Bout Love / You Really Got Me (Happy Trails)
●Diver Down (7 songs)
– The Full Bug / Little Guitars / Where Have All the Good Times Gone! / Cathedral / Secrets / Intruder / (Oh) Pretty Woman
●Other (8 songs + α)
– Legendary Bomber: Dance the Night Away / Somebody Get Me a Doctor / Bottoms Up!
– Other: Romeo Delight / Unchained / Mean Street (★) / God Bless The Child (★★) / Everybody Wants Some!! / Heartbreak Hotel (★★)
*Note: Songs marked with “★” are songs that could not be heard in the 1982 edition of the newly excavated soundboard series. In particular, the “★★” mark indicates songs that were not included on the South American editions “CARACAS 1983 SOUNDBOARD” and “SAO PAULO 1983 1ST NIGHT SOUNDBOARD.
” The second half of “Runnin’ With the Devil,” which was omitted from “RIO DE JANEIRO 1983 2ND NIGHT,” is also included, completely uncut. There are a few minor tape changes in the middle of “Cathedral” and during the guitar solo, but the rest of the recording is complete.
Engineer Roy’s newly excavated soundboard series has now reached its 20th release. Among them, “REHEARSALS 1983 (Zodiac 838)” is the most valuable, while “BILOXI 1982 (Zodiac 775)” and “CARACAS 1983 (Zodiac 839)” are the most rare. For the longest recordings, “FORT WAYNE 1982” and this one are the must-haves. These are the longest recordings ever, bringing the dream of a full live album closer than ever to reality. Enjoy them anytime, anywhere with this 2-CD press, which will never lose its luster.
★ This is a superb stereo soundboard recording of the “February 1, 1983 Porto Alegre” performance. This new masterpiece boasts the longest run of Roy’s leaked soundboard series, a record that has produced countless masterpieces. This is an absolute masterpiece from the “NO PROBLEM Tour” that pairs with the long-length “FORT WAYNE 1982 SOUNDBOARD (Zodiac 780)” from the early “HIDE YOUR SHEEP Tour”.
