Description

The Forum, Inglewood, CA, USA 11th September 1982 STEREO SBD
The first appearance of the soundboard rush of the “HIDE YOUR SHEEP Tour”, which is shaking up collectors all over the world every week, and the latest release will be released this week as well.
This work permanently preserves the “September 11, 1982 Inglewood Performance.” It is a superb stereo soundboard recording recorded at the legendary venue “The Forum.” This soundboard series is on a different level in both quality and quantity. Normally, even if there is just one per tour…or even if there is just one every decade, a huge number of super-class soundboards are being released at a furious pace. This collection has also entered a new stage since the “PHOENIX 1982 SOUNDBOARD (Zodiac 795)” introduced the day before. To explain the significance of this and to organize the collection, let’s approach the position of this work from the usual overview of the activities at that time.

This is VAN HALEN from 1982/1983. Their only South American tour and “US Festival” professional shots are also famous, but they spanned the new year in 1983. In contrast, all of this new excavation rush was the 1982 US tour. There have been quite a few, so let’s list them here.

…And that’s how it goes. Until now, it’s only been “North America #1” and “North America #3” works, but from the recent “PHOENIX 1982 SOUNDBOARD” it has also advanced to the unexplored “North America #2”. This work is the second of its kind. “The Forum” is a three-night performance, and this is the final day. It is also the day after the hit audience classic “LA FORUM 1982 2ND NIGHT MASTER TAPES (Zodiac 677)”.
This work, recorded at such a show, is a new masterpiece with a delicious sense of breadth. As with the previous soundboard series, it is directly connected to a high-class mix table, and the extremely thick, unprocessed feel and the sense of synchronization that perfectly matches the live performance are the same. On top of that, this work feels like it has a wide range of stereo sensations. For example, if the stereo sensation of the recent “PHOENIX 1982 SOUNDBOARD” and “CLEVELAND 1982 SOUNDBOARD (Zodiac 801)” is “the sound of the band close to the center spreading left and right,” this work feels like “the ensemble itself spreading left and right.”
In addition to such wide dynamism, the performance itself is also in top form. After all, “The Forum” is a venue that symbolizes the local Los Angeles. As it is a series of performances there, the spirit and confidence are well balanced, showing off a Yokozuna sumo performance that exudes power, momentum, and even dignity.
The “HIDE YOUR SHEEP Tour” continues to uncover unprecedented soundboards in the history of VAN HALEN…or even in rock record history. This is a vivid and wide new masterpiece. While audience recordings often run alongside the latest tours, this time the soundboard allows you to run alongside VAN HALEN’s golden age tour. This is a luxurious soundboard tour that collectors will never have again. Please enjoy this week’s permanent preservation press 2CD to the fullest!
★A superb stereo soundboard recording of the “September 11, 1982 Inglewood Performance.” As with the previous New Excavation Series, this is a direct-to-mix system with a superb level of mixing, and the extremely thick, unprocessed feel and the sense of synchronization that perfectly matches the live performance are tremendous. On top of that, this work has a wide stereo feel that is truly dynamic. It is a pleasure board that will pour a full show of the best into your brain.
