U2 – SHADOWS AND TALL TREES (CD)

Description

A collection of demos recorded by U2 during their early career, previously featured on several unofficial releases, is now available again on a CD on Plastic Head. Some of this material has remained unreleased, but the rest was included on their 1979 debut EP “Three,” the singles of the period, and the Irish band’s first and third albums, “Boy” and “War.” The first eight tracks were recorded in 1979 at Eamon Andrews Studio in Dublin, the first in Ireland equipped with a multitrack recorder, which was also used to capture the following four tracks on tape in 1978. “Shadows And Tall Trees” and the outtakes “Street Mission” and “The Fool” (officially released in a digital EP titled “Early Demos” in 2004) were also recorded in 1978 at Keystone Studio with the production of Barry Devlin-Horslips while “Like A Song”, “Surrender”, “I Will Follow” and “Sunday Bloody Sunday” come from a demo session in 1983.
