Mike Millard master excavation project, which was thought to have ended in 2024, has unexpectedly restarted! The first report is a newly discovered work from U2’s “ZOO TV Tour.”

This work is recorded from the “April 13, 1992 Los Angeles Performance (Day 2).” It is a superb audience recording by the absolute master Millard. Speaking of the “ZOO TV Tour,” it is a period of Millard’s masterpieces. The press masterpieces “LOS ANGELES 1992 1ST NIGHT (Wardour-431)” and “SAN DIEGO APRIL 1992 (Wardour-483)” are also major classics. What is the position of this work among them? First, let’s explore the overview of the activities at that time.

[A trilogy of sisters recorded by the absolute master Millard]
As you can see, Millard recorded the album consecutively over three days: April 12th, 13th, and 15th. The first and third days were unearthed in 2020 and 2021, but the second day in Los Angeles, during the Chunichi Dragons concert, was overlooked (apparently mistaken for the first day recording). This secret recording was unearthed in 2026 after a long hiatus. One piece of the puzzle has now fallen into place.

This vacuum-packed recording is truly a masterpiece. It’s the same venue and the same recordist, so it’s only natural, but it’s worthy of being called a sister to the previous day’s press masterpiece, “LOS ANGELES 1992 1ST NIGHT.” Millard was experimenting with DAT recording at this time, and the direct feel of the on-core and the clear contours are nothing short of impressive. The clarity of Millard’s unique, transparent atmosphere is exceptional.

In fact, it’s true that the resolution of the deep bass is a step behind the sister works, but that’s also the highest standard of the “Mirrored Trilogy.” If there hadn’t been two press masterpieces, there’s no doubt that this work would have been boldly made into a press CD.

[A full show connecting the sister press masterpieces]
Such a mirrored DAT sound depicts a full show that is subtly different from both before and after the trilogy. Let’s organize the set, including a comparison with the sister works.

●Achtung Baby and others (10 songs)
・Zoo Station / The Fly / Even Better Than The Real Thing / Mysterious Ways / One / Until The End Of The World / Who’s Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses / Tryin’ To Throw Your Arms Around The World / Ultraviolet (Light My Way) (*) / Love Is Blindness
●Others (11 songs)
・Homura: Bad / Pride (In The Name Of Love)
・Joshua Tree: Bullet The Blue Sky / Running To Stand Still / Where The Streets Have No Name / I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For / With Or Without You
・Scream of the Soul: Angel Of Harlem / Desire (*)
・Cover: Dancing Queen (★: ABBA) / Satellite Of Love (Lou Reed)
*Note: * denotes Millard’s sister work, “LOS ANGELES 1992 1ST NIGHT,” * denotes “SAN” Songs that weren’t heard on “DIEGO APRIL 1992”

… and so on. What’s noteworthy is that there are songs that weren’t on the first day, the day before, or in San Diego three days later. The ABBA cover “Dancing Queen,” which wasn’t on the first day, appears, and “Ultraviolet (Light My Way)” and “Desire,” which weren’t on San Diego, are also included. In other words, by completing the trilogy, you can experience the transition of the set with a mirrored sound.

This is a surprising reboot of the Millard Master excavation, which was thought to have concluded in 2024. The final piece has been added between the first day and San Diego, beloved as a press masterpiece. Millard’s “ZOO TV Tour” trilogy has been completed. This is the second album of the three sisters, and is a must-have for those who have loved the press masterpieces. Please enjoy it to the fullest.

★ A superb audience recording of the “April 13, 1992 Los Angeles Performance (Day 2).” This is the first appearance of the sound source by absolute virtuoso Mike Millard, and is the middle part of the trilogy that includes the press masterpieces “LOS ANGELES 1992 1ST NIGHT” and “SAN DIEGO APRIL 1992.” The Millard sound, with its excellent high-pitched on-tone and clear air, allows you to experience a full show that is similar to both the previous and subsequent sister works.
