LONDON CALLING – 2 CD On June 13, 1968, coinciding with the release of the live album “Undead,” Ten Years After embarked on their first major North American tour, lasting seven weeks. On June 28, they performed at the famous Fillmore Auditorium in San Francisco in one of the key dates of that leg of the tour, and local rock station KSAN-FM made sure to record the show and broadcast it over the airwaves. London Calling now reproduces on an unofficial double CD the performance in which the English quartet led by Alvin Lee offers a setlist stuffed with covers including the very famous “Summertime” by George Gershwin and the decidedly lesser-known “I Want To Know” recorded by Eric Clapton with the Powerhouse, as well as blues standards such as “Spoonful” by Willie Dixon, “Cross Road Blues” by Robert Johnson and “Help Me” by Sonny Boy Williamson, partly published on the debut album of the previous year “Ten Years After” and on “Undead” itself. Among the pieces written by Lee, “Rock Your Mama”, “I May Be Wrong, But I Won’t Be Wrong Always” and “Woodchoppers Ball” by Lee while “No Title” is a preview from the following “Stonedhenge”
