The unofficial Power Chord label releases two Television radio concerts on two CDs. At the time, Tom Verlaine (lead guitar and vocals), Richard Lloyd (guitar and vocals), Fred Smith (bass and vocals) and Billy Ficca (drums) had two albums to draw from, the formidable and legendary “Marquee Moon” and its successor “Adventure”: from the first, the New York quartet performs “See No Evil”, “Venus”, “Friction”, “Marquee Moon” (all present in two versions), “Elevation” and “Prove It”; from the second “Glory”, “Ain’t That Nothin'”, “Careful” and “Foxhole” (all featured in both sets), to which are added the famous debut single “Little Johnny Jewel”, a couple of rarities and covers of “Satisfaction” by the Rolling Stones and “Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door” by Bob Dylan: on stage the neurotic, sharp and angular punk jazz scansions of songs very different from those of contemporary bands and the hypnotic guitar interweavings between Verlaine and Lloyd that the famous critic Lester Bangs compared to those of Quicksilver Messenger Service stand out even more.
