Description

Released on the Parachute label, this unofficial LP features Stevie Ray Vaughan’s first-ever radio broadcast, made in July 1980 when the Texan artist had yet to release his first album. Filmed and broadcast by local radio station WNOR, the performance took place at the King’s Head Inn in Norfolk, Virginia, a small venue with a capacity of no more than 100 people that was popular with students from the nearby Old Dominion University campus. The setlist includes songs that appeared three years later on his debut album, “Texas Flood” (the title track, “Love Struck Baby,” “I’m Cryin'”) as well as covers such as Freddie King’s “Hideaway,” Robert Geddins’ “Tin Pan Alley,” and Jimi Hendrix’s “Little Wing.”
