Description

(Early orders include bonus CD)
The legendary compilation that sweeps up the “true rare tracks” that were overlooked even in the official deluxe edition is back! It has been decided to reprint it on a press CD that permanently preserves the completely official best master.
While this type of rare track collection is often good for collections, it’s not always interesting to listen to, but this album is different. There are no simple abbreviated edits; it’s packed with non-album tracks and outtakes. Even familiar songs are included, with a focus on novelty, including Michael Schenker’s first professional recordings, pseudonymous singles, remixes, live performances, and extended versions with never-before-heard parts. And it’s not just rare; all of the tracks are (naturally) soundboards, and the quality is so superb they could be included on the official CD. Let’s take a closer look at each track.
[DISC 1: Treasured Tracks from the 70s (6 Tracks)]
● Michael Schenker’s First Recordings (2 Tracks)
“I’m Going Mad (Unreleased Single Version)” “Action (Unreleased Single Version – Instrumental)”
First up are Michael Schenker’s first professional recordings, a memorable moment for him. These were recorded as singles in 1971, prior to his debut album “Lonesome Crow,” but were never released. They were later included on a rare German-only compilation album, but even that is difficult to find. “Action” is an instrumental version, as the lyrics had not yet been completed.
Following the two legendary singles under the name of THE HUNTERS,
“Fuchs Geh’ Voran (Fox On The Run)” and “Wenn Es Richting Losgeht (Action),” is
the rarest single, arguably the “holy grail of the SCORPIONS collection.” This 7-inch, “Fuchs Geh’ Voran,” was released under the name “THE HUNTERS” in 1975. A cover of THE SWEET that producer Dieter Dirks had the band record as a test, it features striking German lyrics and Krautrock-inspired synths.
Two rare singles from the Uli Jon Roth era:
“Speedy’s Coming (Single Version – Remix/Edit 1976)” and “Surrender Love (Original Single Mix)
.” First, “Speedy’s Coming” is the original single version, with a more subdued cowbell and a slightly different finish from the album take. This is a remix created for the single in 1976 after producer Dater Dirks joined the band, and has never been officially released on CD.
The second song, “Surrender Love,” is also a single-only version, and the 2001 remaster and the official Dela Eddie version were remixed versions with reverb, but this is the original.

[DISC 1: 80’s Treasure Tracks (7 songs)]

●Legendary live tracks from the first MONSTERS OF ROCK (3 songs):
“Loving You Sunday Morning,” “The Zoo,” and “Another Piece Of Meat.”
The legendary first MONSTERS OF ROCK was held at Donington Park on August 16, 1980. These three previously unreleased live tracks have been reissued in the best quality.
●Various alternate versions (4 songs):
“China White (European Version – Alternate Guitar Solo),” “Love On The Run (Tough And Rough Mix),” “Passion Rules The Game (Long Version),” “Is There Anybody There (Long Version – Re-Recorded 1989)”
Rudolph’s guitar solo on “China White” was different between the European and American versions, but the official Delaware release and most compilation albums use the US version. This release includes the now rare European version.
The “SAVAGE AMUSEMENT” era’s “Love On The Run” and “Passion Rules” are single versions, “Love On The Run” is a rough mix with a wild bass, and “Passion Rules The Game” is a long version that is 1 minute 20 seconds longer than the album version.
”Is There Anybody There” is a re-recorded version from 1989. It was also included on the European release of “BEST OF ROCKERS ‘N’ BALLADS,” but this is the longer version available only as a single.
[DISC 1: Treasure Tracks from the Early 90s (6 Tracks)]
● “CRAZY WORLD” Era (1 Track)
“Wind Of Change (Russian/English Version)”
A mixed version of Russian and English. The deluxe edition of “CRAZY WORLD” also included a Russian version, but this is a rare version that mixes two languages.
● “FACE THE HEAT” era (5 songs)
“(Marie’s The Name) His Latest Flame (Us Hidden Track),” “Rubber Fucker (Single B-Side),” “Partners In Crime (Single B-Side),” “No Pain No Gain (Remix/Edit With Die Fusball-Nationalmannschaft),” “Under The Same Sun (Remix/Edit)” “
(Marie’s The Name) His Latest Flame” is a cover of an Elvis Presley song and a secret track only available on the US version. “Rubber Fucker” and “Partners In Crime” were only released as singles and not on the album.
”No Pain No Gain” and “Under The Same Sun” are remixes produced for the official 1994 World Cup album. “No Pain No Gain” is a large-scale sing-along version with the addition of the German national soccer team chorus.

[DISC 2: Hidden gems from the late ’90s (9 tracks)]
● “LIVE BITES” era (2 tracks)
“In Trance (Live Excl. Audience – Mexico City 23-03-1994)” “Ave Maria No Morro (Studio Version)”
”In Trance” sounds like a studio re-recording, but it’s the same live take as on the album. It lacks the audience cheers and is about 30 seconds longer. It was only included on the US promo CD, where it was listed as the “Studio Version.” “Ave Maria No Morro” is the authentic studio version. A rare track that was only available as a single.
● “PURE INSTINCT” era (4 songs)
“Just One You (Unreleased Outtake)”, “Kiss Of Borrowed Time (Single B-Side)”, “When You Came Into My Life (New Version)”, “Stone In My Shoe (Live – El Paso 05-06-1996)”
”Just One You” is an outtake of a rare yet dramatic ballad written by then-bassist Ralph Rickerman. The other three songs are single tracks, and “Kiss Of Borrowed Time” is included on the album. “When You Came Into My Life” is a rearranged version that adds synths and is even more moving (it’ll give you goosebumps!). “Stone In My Shoe” is a live performance.
● “EYE II EYE” era (3 songs)
“Mind Power (Single B-Side),” “Start Me Up (Single B-Side),” “To Be No.1 (Long Version),” “A Moment In A Million Years (Acoustic Version)”
SCORPIONS’ most controversial album, “EYE II EYE,” is also packed with rare tracks. “Mind Power” and “Start Me Up” are single B-sides that were not included on the album, while “To Be No.1” is a long version that is about 40 seconds longer and only available on the single. While the single is credited as the “Album Version,” it is actually the “Radio Edit” that was included on the album. “A Moment In A Million Years” is the version used in the promotional video. The album was originally an acoustic version with piano, but this version is a deep listen, focusing on acoustic guitar and strings.
[DISC 2: Treasured Tracks of the 2000s (8 Songs)]
● UNBREAKABLE Era (3 Songs)
“New Horizons (Live – Moscow 06-09-2003)”, “The Song That Won’t Go Away (Unreleased Outtake)”, “You Are The Champion (With Michael Kleitman)”
”New Horizons” is an unreleased song that was performed as a new song at a live show in Moscow on September 6th, 2003 but was never released. In the end, it is an extremely rare song that was only performed once on that day.
”The Song That Won’t Go Away” was an unreleased track from the making of “Unbreakable,” later re-recorded by drummer James Kottak as a solo artist. “You Are the Champion” is a cover of a Queen song, a duet with a man named Michael Kleitman. Although released as a single in 2004, this is a rare take that has rarely been available outside of Germany.
● “LIVE AT WACKEN OPEN AIR 2006” era (4 songs)
“Dark Lady,” “He’s A Woman – She’s A Man,” “In Search Of The Peace Of Mind,” “Dynamite”
These are 4 outtakes that were cut from the DVD. Uli appears on “Dark Lady,” and Uli and Michael Schenker appear on “He’s A Woman – She’s A Man” and “In Search Of The Peace Of Mind.”
●”HUMANITY: HOUR I” era (1 song)
“Humanity (Radio Edit – Excl. Orchestra)”
This is an edited version that excludes the orchestra and was only included on the European promo CD.
This is a treasure trove of 37 songs spanning 2 hours, 39 minutes, and 24 seconds. Listening to it from the first professional recordings to the 2000s, you can experience the history of the SCORPIONS. Even though it’s full of takes you’ve never heard before, this two-disc set is as enjoyable as a historical greatest hits album, and it really shows you just how talented songwriters Rudolf & Krauss are. This definitive album should have been passed down forever as an official release, and now it’s being reissued with aplomb.

This legendary compilation brings together all the “true rare tracks” that were overlooked even in the official deluxe edition. All 37 tracks are completely official, including Michael Schenker’s first professional recordings, pseudonymous singles, remixes, live performances, extended versions with never-before-heard parts, and more. Listening to it all will allow you to experience the history of the SCORPIONS for yourself. This is the ultimate two-disc set.
