Description

The Go Faster Records label marks this unofficial CD reissue of the concert, broadcast on the radio at the time, that Rory Gallagher held on August 28, 1982, in the picturesque setting of the Loreley Rock overlooking the Rhine as part of that year’s Rockpalast Open Air Festival. In a trio with Gerry McAvoy on bass and Brendan O’Neill on drums, the Irish guitar hero opens with “Wayward Child” from 1979’s “Top Priority,” also reprising “Bad Penny” from that album; from his recent album “Jinx,” he features songs such as “Double Vision,” “Big Guns,” “Bourbon,” “Jinxed,” “The Devil Made Me Do It,” and “Ride On Red, Ride On” (from Louisiana Red), alongside covers such as Chuck Berry’s “Nadine” and Lead Belly’s “Out On The Western Plain.”
