Description
This “classic radio broadcast” reproduced on unofficial CD by Yard Stick dates back to 1973, and more precisely to September 10 of that year when the great Irish guitarist took the stage at Richard’s Niteclub in Atlanta, Georgia, with bassist Gerry McAvoy and drummer Brendan O’Neill. Opened by “Messin’ With The Kid” written by Mel London and made famous by Junior Wells, the tracklist includes consolidated warhorses such as “Laundromat”, the new “Hands Off” (from the album “Blueprint”) and the still unreleased “A Million Miles Away” and “Cradle Rock” (released a couple of months later on “Tattoo”), as well as covers of pieces such as “”Hoodoo Man Blues” by Sonny Boy Williamson, “”Pistol Slapper Blues” by Blind Boy Fuller and “”As The Crow Flies” by Tony Joe White.
