Description
Thunder Ridge Nature Arena, Ridgedale, MO, USA 21st July 2024 TRULY PERFECT SOUND
While the situation remains uncertain, the Stones’ live performance plans for 2026 have been scrapped. This means that the Stones’ next performance will be in Ridgedale in 2024. Perhaps fearing that this might be the Stones’ final live performance, Daspyknows has released a recording of his own Ridgedale performance.
Speaking of Ridgedale, the superb audience album “RIDGEDALE 2024” was released in real time, but he has just made it public again. I was surprised by the even more superb audience recording that surpassed the same album, and this time the true power of the late taper was demonstrated again. The only part that had been cut in the MC after “Gimme Shelter” was compensated for and connected neatly from “RIDGEDALE 2024” upon release.
Just listening to the SE before the Stones’ appearance is enough to make the sound image pop. As expected from Daspyknows, the release a year and a half after the live performance is no joke. This is not only an undeniably superb audience, but also a quality that should definitely be released on a limited press CD. This guarantees that not only enthusiasts but also beginners can listen with confidence.
Even so, the 2024 tour was huge, touring with the new album “Hackney Diamonds,” which has already become a masterpiece, and the sense of activity that is rare in recent Stones tours is truly amazing. The resulting performance was immeasurable in its power. That impression has not changed.
Even so, the unprecedented pattern of Keith Corner increasing the number of songs to three midway through the tour, and the change that temporarily prevented “Sweet Sounds Of Heaven” from being played, are now fond memories. The Stones-like changes throughout the tour may have further increased the evaluation of this tour.
What’s more, it’s the best tour in recent years. It’s no exaggeration to say that 2024 was the year of the tour, but the performance on the final day was truly amazing. The limited press “RIDGEDALE 2024,” which captured the performance with the highest sound quality, is also truly amazing. The audience recording, which exceeds that sound quality, further conveys the splendor of the performance on this day. In fact, the sound image is so close that it feels almost too real.
The best moment on the final day of this tour was when the new songs from “HACKNEY DIAMONDS” were played one after the other. “Let It Bleed” and “Street Fighting Man,” which were played before that, were the highlights of the day, but it was the new songs that really shone on this day.
First of all, the performance of “Whole Wide World” was overwhelming. It really showed the level of the Stones’ musical talents that they had reached on the final day of the tour. The performance of “Mess It Up” that followed was also impressive. These two songs alone were enough to make it a truly wonderful day, and the overwhelming quality of Daspyknows’ recordings also stood out.
This outstanding recording also highlights the quietness of Keith’s corner (wry smile), making it the most listenable. The sound images of “Sympathy For The Devil” and “Honky Tonk Women,” which begin after his corner, are extremely close from the intro, exactly at soundboard level. And the incident of Keith’s guitar change trouble and the interlude jam that occurred on “Paint It Black,” which was a hot topic at the time, is even more realistic. This is an undeniably superb audience. The final performance of 2024, heard once again with a stunning upper feeling, is exceptional!
