The Forum, Inglewood, CA, USA 9th July 1975

★UPGRADE & LONGER!!!
Last year, the JEMS team finally unearthed the master tapes recorded by Mike Millard of the Rolling Stones’ 1975 LA Forum concert series. Among the many recordings released last year, the first night of “LA FORUM 1975 1ST NIGHT: MIKE MILLARD MASTER TAPES” was the most popular and sold out in record time.
Along with the final day of the LA Forum, many items have been produced so far, but the vivid upper feeling unique to the master tape is overwhelming. If the first day of the LA Forum, which was one of the famous audiences where Millard’s skills were outstanding, was to be released as the definitive version, it would be natural for it to sell out.
However, as a must-listen for all music fans, this Mike Millard recording, which marks his peak, is sure to be available in steady supply. Even if it wasn’t, many have expressed a desire for it to be re-released soon. It’s a rare audience recording that combines his outstanding recording techniques with the allure of the Stones’ hyper-performance in 1975.
If that were the case, simply reissuing “LA FORUM 1975 1ST NIGHT: MIKE MILLARD MASTER TAPES” would be enough, but as a result of “GRAF ZEPPELIN” stepping up for this release, the Millard Master that appeared last year has been completely reconsidered and released.
First, there was the DAT error noise at the beginning of “All Down The Line” and after the end of “You Can’t Always Get What You Want,” which was a blemish on last year’s release. This has been corrected using previously released discs recorded from intact branch copies. In particular, the former was corrected by copying and pasting from a different part of the performance on “LA FORUM 1975 1ST NIGHT,” but this time it was corrected exactly as the actual performance. However, this is only one of the many adjustments made by GRAF ZEPPELIN for this release.
The biggest flaw in this recording was the cut that occurred during the cassette change in the middle of “You Can’t Always Get What You Want.” On the previous release, this cut was left as it was out of respect for the mirrored master, but this time, the complete recording was realized for the first time by supplementing it with the nostalgic analog reissue “SMOKING STONES,” released more than 10 years ago. Listening to the mirrored version one after the other like this, it’s once again clear that the sound quality of “SMOKING STONES” was also quite high quality.
That’s not all, supervised by “GRAF ZEPPELIN.” Among the other cassette cuts, the one that was a major concern was the end of “Angie.” Taking advantage of the fact that this was a scene without a performance, previously released Screamer and DAC discs had each transplanted cheers from different parts and filled in the gaps haphazardly. However, the third recording from that day, “LA FORUM 1975 1ST NIGHT,” was the perfect fit for this. Moreover, this gap wasn’t just a cheer, but Mick’s roar, so the difference in how the actual scene was properly filled in is significant. Furthermore, thanks to the discovery of this recording, the gap between the end of “Jumping Jack Flash” and the encore was also filled in, making this a truly complete recording!
The best part is that it even removes the low frequency noise that is unique to Miller, which was noticeable on the previously released board and when JEMS was released, improving the listening experience.
Not only is this a reissue of a classic recording, but thanks to the thorough editing unique to “GRAF ZEPPELIN,” making full use of the material now available, the first day of the beloved 1975 LA Forum recording at Millerd has been literally reborn as a faithful documentary of the day. Beyond a simple reissue, this is the definitive edition of July 9th!

REMASTERED BY GRAF ZEPPELIN

*Complete recording including gaps between songs
★Mirrored latest remaster
While all the problems with the previous version, such as missing tracks and DAT errors, have been resolved, the cuts in the mirrored sound source have been supplemented with a different source to achieve non-stop complete recording!
The actual live performance is faithfully reproduced with additional sources added immediately after Angie’s performance and between songs after Jumpin’!
In particular, after Angie’s performance, fake compensation was made on the previously released DAC and Screamer versions, and this time it was compensated for with the correct sound as in the actual live performance for the first time!
In addition, the low frequency noise that is typical of mirrored vinyl and that was noticeable on previously released and JEMS releases has been slightly removed, improving sound quality!
