ROLLING STONES – 1973 NASTY MUSIC: THE LOST LIVE ALBUM (3 CD)
$69.00
MAYFLOWER – 3 CD
Description
Comprehensive soundboard recordings from the 1973 European tour. Includes the first and second shows from Brussels.
While the title “NASTY MUSIC” may evoke old analog bootlegs, the content is a comprehensive one, fitting the subtitle of “THE LOST LIVE ALBUM,” which encompasses all of the 1973 soundboard recordings.
Disc 1 contains the first show from Brussels on October 17, 1973. While its high sound quality has led to it being included on numerous titles, this latest remaster further refines the sound quality, resulting in an ultra-high-quality recording that rivals the second show, which will be discussed later. This should be self-explanatory for many enthusiasts. “STARFUCKER,” the only song cut from the broadcast due to lyrics, is also included here as an audience recording. Disc 2 contains the second show from the Brussels performance on October 17, 1973. The original noise and other artifacts have been beautifully removed, allowing for differentiation even among different discs with the same content.
Disc 3 features other surviving 1973 soundboard recordings. These include six tracks from the September 9, 1973, Wembley performance in London, three tracks from the September 13, 1973, Newcastle performance, and “Brown Sugar” from the October 14, 1973, Rotterdam performance, all of which are essential components of “NASTY MUSIC.” Additionally, four soundboard recordings from the September 28, 1973, Munich performance are included. Unfortunately, only “Brown Sugar” from the second show is recorded in its entirety; the other three tracks have been edited from audience sources to allow full listening. The soundboard recording of “GIMME SHELTER” from the first Munich show is particularly rare. The
classic title, “NASTY MUSIC,” is a classic. Although the title is familiar, the contents are a definitive edition that covers the 1973 soundboard sound source, mainly from the Brussels performance. A permanently preserved press board with a beautiful picture disc specification.
