　Permanently preserved in this work is the “March 20, 1982 Houston Performance.” This is a stereo soundboard recording. Speaking of the “GHOST IN THE MACHINE Tour” soundboard, our press masterpiece “GATESHEAD 1982 (Wardour-530)” reigns supreme as a symbol, but this work can be said to be its North American version. First, let’s take a bird’s-eye view of the activities at that time and check their respective positional relationships.

　This is a complete look at the activities surrounding “GHOST IN THE MACHINE.” “GATESHEAD 1982” is a live album version of the same show as the official video “LIVE GHOST IN THE MACHINE,” recorded in their home country of the UK. The Houston performance in this work was the seventh performance of “North America # 3,” about three months earlier.

　This work, which conveys such a show, is truly a beautiful soundboard. While it is a previously known sound source, this is the latest version newly digitized from the master tape. The sound is truly “fully official.” After all, the details are finer than “GATESHEAD 1982,” with ultra-clear nuances of each note and even the subtle effects applied to the guitar. This incredible quality is only possible because it is Master Direct. There is no crushing or distortion even in the finest details, and it is natural throughout. This feeling is more like an official high-quality CD than a bootleg. In other words, like “Mobile Fidelity” and “Nimbus Supercut,” it is a sound of a dimension that determines how faithfully the sound left on magnetic tape is digitized and how accurately it is transferred to CD media.

　The mix also has a sense of symmetry. It’s strange, but while the cheers are so far away that it seems like the mix is directly connected to the table, the ensemble is too well-balanced for a live mix. Was it an FM broadcast with a high aesthetic sense for live performance, or was it a direct-connected soundboard that was accidentally recorded with a miraculous balance? Either way, it’s a masterpiece that combines vividness and beauty.

　Such a beautiful sound is depicted in the precious live performance of the “GHOST IN THE MACHINE Tour”. Unfortunately, the first three songs are missing, so it’s not full, but you can still enjoy it for about 79 minutes.
