Description
The unofficial 4-CD box set “The Sun Returns” (Expensive Woodland Recordings label) contains the recordings of two Pink Floyd concerts dating back to the World Tour staged in 1971 to promote the album “Atom Heart Mother”. The first disc contains an Italian show (the one on June 20 at the PalaEur in Rome, already officially made available by the group on streaming services), the second one the concert of February 12 at the Lecture Theatre Block 6 & 7 of the University of Essex at Wivenhoe Park in Colchester, England. Both opened by the suite “Atom Heart Mother” performed without choir and orchestra, the two shows differ slightly in the setlist: “Fat Old Sun” is present only in the Italian one, as well as the improvisation “Blues” and the first version of “Echoes” still titled “The Return Of The Son Of Nothing”.
