Description
The unofficial “Radio Waves” box set series compiled by Expensive Woodland Recordings from out-of-copyright radio recordings also includes this Pink Floyd title: 4 CDs containing 36 tracks spanning the period from 1967 to 1970, between “The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn” and “Atom Heart Mother”. The first disc features Syd Barrett again, in a setlist that also includes a cover of the instrumental soul standard “Green Onions” (Booker T. & The MG’s) and an instrumental improvisation performed for the BBC science popularization programme “Tomorrow’s World”; the second one concerns the “A Saucerful Of Secrets” period and includes a version of “Careful With That Axe, Eugene” presented with the alternative title of “Murderotic Woman” while the third and fourth also contain relatively more recent pieces such as “Embryo”, “Fat Old Sun” and the suite “Atom Heart Mother” performed with choir and orchestra.
