Description

Pressed by Andy Capp on limited-edition multicolored splash vinyl, this unofficial LP features the soundtrack to “La Carrera Panamericana,” a 1992 documentary film directed by Ian McArthur. Inspired by the participation of David Gilmour, Nick Mason, and Pink Floyd manager Steve O’Rourke in the classic car road race of the same name, the film offered a glimpse into Mexican life along the route from the southern region of the Central American country to the Texas border. Joined by Richard Wright (keyboards), Jon Carin (keyboards), guitarist Tim Renwick, bassist Guy Pratt, and drummer/percussionist Gary Wallis, Gilmour and Mason curated the soundtrack, adding previously unreleased instrumental compositions by the guitarist and singer to excerpts from “Momentary Lapse Of Reason” and the live “Delicate Sound Of Thunder.”
