PINK FLOYD – BEFORE TIME BEGAN: BROADCASTS 1967-1970 (LP)

Room On Fire is an unofficial LP reissue of collectible material previously circulated on bootleg. This collection of rarities includes A- and B-sides of singles and tracks from albums such as “The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn” and “A Saucerful Of Secrets,” taken from studio outtakes, radio sessions, and vintage concerts. The recordings span the period from 1967 to 1970, spanning both the Syd Barrett and David Gilmour eras. The songs taken from a famous 1970 performance at the BBC’s Paris Theatre for John Peel’s radio show stand out (including “Embryo”, a must-have in the live sets of the 1970-71 period) while “Heart Beat, Pig Meat” is taken from the soundtrack of Michelangelo Antonioni’s “Zabriskie Point” and “Mademoiselle Nobs” is, as is well known, the version of “Seamus” included in the film “Pink Floyd at Pompeii” with the barking of a Russian greyhound accompanying Gilmour on harmonica and Roger Waters on electric guitar.
