★ Wings No Mouse Show! Mouse extermination is complete!

“THE BRUCE McMOUSE SHOW,” which was unearthed as live footage of the original Wings, thrilled fans worldwide…or so I’d like to say, but the way it literally intertwines with animation of a mouse backstage ended up interrupting the live scenes, and above all, the video undeniably showed its age.

Therefore, the scenes with the mouse between songs were omitted, and the DVD, which has long since sold out, was repackaged to include only the 1972 live repertoire, including “Seaside Woman.”

However, this time, we’ve included all the performance scenes from “THE BRUCE McMOUSE SHOW,” while also rearranging them in the actual live performance order. Therefore, this time it starts with the opening song “Big Barn Bed,” but the audio has also been replaced from lip-syncing to the live audio from the Newcastle concert included on the “WINGS OVER EUROPE” CD.

Furthermore, the interactions with the mouse between songs were completely cut. However, it’s only natural to cut such scenes, and this time, the scenes and dialogue of the mouse that appeared during the performance were thoroughly cut!

For example, in “Eat At Home” and “Bip Bop,” mice appear repeatedly to the point of disrupting the performance, but this time, they are eliminated through incredibly skillful and meticulous editing, specifically by inserting scenes of Wings. This fits in so naturally that you wouldn’t think it was reused from other cuts. In fact, you might even be fooled into thinking that the live footage was like this from the beginning.

Naturally, the interaction with the rat that appears at the end of “The Mess” has been completely removed. Furthermore, the audio has been re-recorded from the ‘WINGS OVER EUROPE’ CD. Of course, the rat who literally plays with the blue moon in “Blue Moon Of Kentucky” is also gone. Even the rat’s lines heard in those songs have been successfully buried!

The film was initially planned to be made using live footage from 1972, but because more close-up shots were needed, as well as scenes introducing the songs, the two lip-synced songs were filmed during post-production in 1973.

Therefore, not only the opening track “Big Barn Bed,” but also Linda’s “Seaside Woman” was replaced with live audio from Groningen included on the ‘WINGS OVER EUROPE’ CD. This resolved one of the unnatural aspects of ‘THE BRUCE McMOUSE SHOW,’ which was that there were two songs where the singer lip-synced in the middle of the live footage.

This time, we’ve made the most of the audio from the ‘WINGS OVER EUROPE’ CD, and this editing allows you to fully appreciate both the performance and the visuals of the finale, “Long Tall Sally,” which faded out with the title sequence in the actual film.

As a bonus, we’ve included stabilized 8mm footage of the 1972 tour, “EAT AT HOME ON TOUR,” which appeared on YouTube a few years ago. The color 8mm footage, in particular, was very shaky, so this stabilization makes it surprisingly easy to watch.
Thanks to the meticulous editing, the video, while certainly containing valuable live footage, was a masterpiece that satisfied fans who felt the anime elements were unnecessary. The rat extermination is complete!
