Paul McCartney’s 1975 Australian tour with Wings is documented with professional-quality recordings on a triple LP housed in a luxury tri-fold gatefold sleeve and containing a reproduction of the tour program. “Wings Over Australia” essentially becomes an excellent complement (although unofficial) to the famous “Wings Over America” ​​with a setlist of 28 songs that takes pieces mainly (but not only) from “Band on the Run” (1973), “Venus and Mars” (1975) and “Wings at the Speed ​​of Sound” (1976) reeling off hits and warhorses such as “Rock Show”, “Jet”, “Let Me Roll It”, “Maybe I’m Amazed”, “Live And Let Die”, “My Love”, “Band On The Run” and “Hi Hi Hi” but above all fishing out five pieces (“Lady Madonna”, “The Long And Winding Road”, “I’ve Just Seen A Face”, “Blackbird” and “Yesterday”) from the Beatles’ repertoire approached with great caution after the group’s breakup. Paul (lead vocals, backing vocals, bass, acoustic guitar, piano and keyboards) is joined by Linda McCartney (piano, keyboards, backing vocals, percussion), Denny Laine (electric and acoustic guitars, bass, vocals, backing vocals, piano, keyboards, harmonica), Jimmy McCulloch (electric and acoustic guitars, bass, vocals, backing vocals) and Joe English (drums, percussion, backing vocals) plus a four-piece horn section led by saxophonist Howie Casey.
