. The Beatles and the Beach Boys, who had a mutual respect but rivalry in the 1960s, finally reunited in the form of a special live event, “Open Hearts Clear Mines.” The concert, held at the Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles on September 18, 2002, was a landmine benefit. Brian Wilson, who had made a miraculous comeback and was actively performing live, joined Paul on stage to perform “God Only Knows.” Later, Paul joined him onstage to perform “Let It Be,” a truly moving “dream collaboration” long awaited by fans of both bands. This precious performance has been newly restored from the original master with a stereo remix, making it the first time it’s been released on CD. This upgraded sound source, which was originally a mono audience recording with a narrow range, has been remixed and restored to a realistic stereo sound with noise and balance correction, resulting in a completely different sound source. Despite their long-standing relationship, this was their only live performance, making it a one-of-a-kind, precious recording. A bonus track includes a remixed version of the 2004 duet “A Friend Like You” (never before released on CD). This is the latest edited memorial edition of Paul McCartney and Brian Wilson’s “dream collaboration.”
