This newly remastered version features a high-quality stereo soundboard recording of a live FM broadcast held at The Tower Theater in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania, four days before the release of her fourth masterpiece, “WAVE,” recorded at the venue with a capacity of approximately 3,100 people on May 13, 1979! The mix and balance are impeccably clear. While several bootlegs from the vinyl era have been released, they all suffer from pitch misalignment. This release carefully corrects the master’s pitch and the misalignment of individual songs. During the extended two-part set, including a break, she spoke about her childhood years in Philadelphia (Upper Darby is part of the Philadelphia metropolitan area), and mentioned the presence of her mother, friends, and family in the audience. She also performed a surprising arrangement of “Hang On To Tomorrow” from the musical “Annie,” which was reportedly one of her mother’s favorites at the time. The setlist featured tracks from their then-new album “WAVE,” which was an even bigger hit than their previous work, including the singles “Frederick” and “Dancing Barefoot.” Enjoy their superb performance with plenty of high-quality sound, including rare covers such as “5-4-3-2-1,” a cover of Manfred Mann’s hit “Be My Baby,” a single coupling number that wasn’t included on the album, and a cover of the Ronettes classic “Be My Baby”!
