Estadio Obras Sanitarias, Buenos Aires, Argentina 12th September 1995 STEREO SBD
★UPGRADE!!!
The Joe Holmes era, one of the longest-running governments in history but ended in misfortune, has come with a superb soundboard album that will pour its true value into your brain.
This work permanently preserves the “Buenos Aires Performance on September 12, 1995.” This is a stereo soundboard recording. Speaking of soundboards from the Holmes era, the masterpiece press masterpiece “DEFINITIVE PHOENIX 1996: LIVE BROADCAST MASTER (Zodiac 726)” reigns supreme, but of course this work is completely different. The members are different, the sound personalities are completely different, but they are “the two great pinnacles of the Holmes era,” which is unbeatable in terms of quality.
To explain the circumstances, first of all, the show’s position. This is a good opportunity, so let’s review the activities at the time when the members were changing rapidly.

[The early Holmes stories with full participation from Geezer Butler]
This is Ozzy Osbourne in 1995/1996. Testament’s Alex Skolnick was the first choice to replace Zack, but he wasn’t officially hired. Joe Holmes was chosen instead. The tour began with the same rhythm section as “OIZZMOSIS,” Geezer Butler and Dean Castronovo, but there were frequent changes. In March 1996, they settled on the same “Down to Earth” lineup, Robert Trujillo and Mike Bordin.
In other words, while the previous masterpiece “DEFINITIVE PHOENIX 1996” was a Trujillo/Bourdain pairing similar to “DOWN TO EARTH,” this work was the “South American” leg of the “Geezer/Castronovo” pairing following “OZZMOSIS.”
This “South American” leg is also a famous place for pro shots and soundboards. Speaking of “Buenos Aires in 1995,” there was also the recently released “MONSTERS OF ROCK ARGENTINA 1995 (Shades 2418),” but of course it was a different performance. Let’s focus on the dates and check them out.
■Details of the “South America” leg
* September 2nd “LUSTRUM OF HOLMES (video)”
* September 6th: Rio de Jeneiro performance
* September 8th “MOR SANTIAGO 1995 (video)”
* September 10th “MOR ARGENTINA 1995”

[Directly connected, other-dimensional sound that can only be achieved through South American broadcasting]
You can enjoy the extremely rare lineup of Holmes & Geezer, but what’s even more powerful is the sound! This is just insanely cool! Unedited, unprocessed live performances burst forth from the speakers, and the overwhelming sense of separation portrays every note of every instrument with intense vividness, and the dynamism of the pans blown away by the tremendous stereo feeling stirs your brain.
I think you’ve already guessed it, but this is the deliciousness of a direct mix table system. Although the equipment is of a quality comparable to that of North America, the awareness and sense cannot keep up, and the on-site mix is broadcast as is. This is what made it possible to achieve “official quality + unofficial liveliness” that was only possible in South America at the time.
[Bonus to complete the official Holmes era collection]
The full show alone is heart-warming, but this album also includes some delicious bonus tracks: “I Don’t Know (Ozzfest 2000 Live)” and “Perry Mason (Ozzfest 1996 Live).”
Joe Holmes never released an official studio album, but only three takes (one studio take and two live takes) have been released. One is the studio recording of “Walk On Water,” which was introduced as a bonus on “DEFINITIVE PHOENIX 1996.” This release includes the remaining two official live takes. “Perry Mason” in particular is a delightful track that, despite being a representative repertoire from Holmes’ time, was never performed on the main live album.
Frankly, in terms of musical perfection, “DEFINITIVE PHOENIX 1996” wins. That remains the case. However, this work can synchronize with the ensemble from the “Joe Holmes & Geezer Butler” era with a direct sound that is impossible in official works.
If “DEFINITIVE PHOENIX 1996” is an “official substitute,” then this work is a bootleg-only extra-dimensional board. Despite their distinct personalities, this work is sure to be a masterpiece. A super-realistic version of “Holmes’s Two Great Summits.” Please enjoy it anytime, anywhere with the Press 2CD, which will never lose its brilliance.
This superb stereo soundboard recording of the Buenos Aires performance on September 12, 1995. Though broadcast on FM, the direct connection to the mix desk allows for the incredibly rare ensemble of Joe Holmes and Geezer Butler to be portrayed with a remarkable sense of separation. This definitive edition also includes bonus tracks from Holmes’ official live performances, “I Don’t Know (Ozzfest 2000 Live)” and “Perry Mason (Ozzfest 1996 Live).”
