☆The definitive edition of Oasis’ 1996 Manchester Main Road 2-Day Tour, known as one of their greatest performances, is back with a new jacket to commemorate its 30th anniversary! Since its release two years ago, this album has been a huge hit and sold out due to its overwhelming sound quality improvement that far surpasses previous titles and the thorough elimination of numerous issues. If you haven’t yet purchased the previous edition, we strongly recommend that you purchase it. The top title of many main road performances!

Among the “three biggest gigs” produced by Oasis between 1995 and 1996, the two days at Maine Road Stadium were the legendary homecoming gig to their hometown of Manchester. Not only was the performance overwhelming, but the fact that each performance had a stereo soundboard recording, and that countless items have been produced to this day, is due to the fact that these masterpieces have been preserved with excellent sound quality.

However, the original was the audio from an unedited pro-shot video, and problems arose in the leaking process. Items that corrected these as much as possible have appeared, but the smash hit masterpiece “DEFINITIVE MAINE ROAD 1996: 2 DAYS REMASTER & REMIX” released in 2024 became a huge bestseller as the definitive version that wiped out all the other items.

In the first place, this title has an exceptional quality that cannot be compared to other titles that have already been released up until now, based on the overall basic sound quality. And by thoroughly revising the problems of each original source for two days, the secret to its popularity is that it was a finish that could not be compared to past items.

First of all, regarding the first day of the main road, while the sound of Bonehead’s guitar was almost nonexistent in the original source, there was a fatal problem that Giggsy’s bass was too loud. However, through thorough remastering and remixing work, this problem, which could not be solved with past items, was completely solved as if it had never happened in the first place. It was groundbreaking.

Furthermore, the glitch noise on “Cast No Shadow” was resolved by replacing it with the same-day take from the official 2014 reissue of “MORNING GLORY.”

Finally, regarding the cut at the beginning of “Wonderwall” from the original source, which was an unavoidable obstacle on the first day of the main road, it was deliberately recorded as it was in the main part, and although the sound quality difference was quite significant as a bonus track, by recording the “complete version” patched with the AUD recording, it was possible to meet the preferences of both listeners, such as “I want to listen with a consistent SBD source and sound quality even if there are gaps” and “I want to listen to the complete version on the day even if the sound quality deteriorates significantly.” In other words, by selecting and rearranging the listener’s favorite in the playlist, it is possible to meet both of the needs mentioned above.

Meanwhile, the second day of the main road performance featured a persistent, harsh, crackling noise, likely due to tracking issues in the leaked video audio, and the left and right channels were also reversed. While correcting the left and right channels was a given, the first step was to thoroughly eliminate the harsh crackling! Furthermore, for the three quiet tracks “Cast No Shadow,” “Wonderwall,” and “The Masterplan,” audio from the official live video “THERE AND THEN” was utilized and remixed to ensure the best possible sound quality. The leaked SBD source also lacked the horn section in the first half of “Round Are Way,” but isolating and remixing the horn section from the “THERE AND THEN” source produced a perfect sound!

Additionally, the unnatural guitar balance in the intro of “Don’t Look Back In Anger” was meticulously restored by connecting and remixing guitars extracted from “THERE AND THEN” using the latest AI technology, allowing it to be heard from the very beginning. As a final touch, the noise found in previous releases of other labels, such as “Cigarettes & Alcohol” and “Champagne Supernova,” was also resolved by patching in a different source.

“DEFINITIVE MAINE ROAD 1996: 2 DAYS REMASTER & REMIX” was the culmination of two days of soulful work, completed after such thorough work that it was almost as if they were going to go that far!

This definitive edition has finally sold out. However, it’s a classic of the 1996 Oasis live shows, along with Knebworth. It would be unacceptable to allow a stable supply of this to cease. It sold out despite the high demand following last year’s Tokyo Dome concert. A re-release this year, marking the 30th anniversary, was inevitable, even before requests were received.

Of course, the finish was perfected at the time of the 2024 release, so the content is basically the same as the previous version (only the editing at the beginning and end of the first day’s bonus track “Wonderwall” has been revised), but the artwork has been completely renewed!

The definitive two-day concert from 1996’s Main Road, which became even more popular after last year’s Tokyo Dome concert and finally sold out, is being re-released in a new package! This work, which has evolved into the strongest soundboard album ever released, has attracted a lot of attention. It is back with a quality that all rock fans must hear. This is a must-have set for every household!
