. From the Oasis 10th Anniversary Tour, the Glasgow performance on October 14, 2001, is completely recorded in high quality. This tour consisted of just six shows, two in each of London, Manchester, and Glasgow. While the Bayswater label has a soundboard recording of the first day in Glasgow on October 13, this release captures the second and final day of the tour, October 14,
in Glasgow. It’s extremely rare for a band with the capacity to fill stadiums to perform in such a small venue, and as you can see from the cover, the audience recording is extremely close-up and of exceptional quality. Many fans will likely prefer this to the soundboard recording from the first day. The intimacy of the performance, the energy of the venue, the sense of unity with the audience, and the sound quality are all on par with the first day. Listening to this album, my heart will fly to Glasgow Barrowlands.
The final day, with no physical or vocal stress, meant the band was extremely energized, even during “Acquiesce,” when Liam was so excited he forced himself to quickly insert “※〇×~Glasgow!” during the song. The sense of unity in “Whatever” is almost moving. The flowing chorus of “She’s Electric” is indescribable. Following on from the first day, Johnny Marr also appears on “Champagne Supernova.” This recording truly condenses the charm of an Oasis live performance, and it will warm your heart.
Bonus tracks include seven tracks from the London show on October 7th of the same tour. A highlight is the inclusion of “One Way Road,” which was not performed in Glasgow.
This is a sequel to the Bayswater label’s “10 Years of Noise and Confusion,” which recorded the October 13th performance from the Glasgow series in 2001. The second and final performance in Glasgow, October 14th, is fully recorded with a high-quality audience. It comes with a thick obi that can be combined with the first day. A beautiful picture disc for permanent preservation.
