Description

This installment in the Leaked Multitrack Master Series is a four-disc pressing of NIRVANA’s “Sappy,” “Very Ape,” “Marijuana,” and “Penny Royal Tea,” each recorded individually from the multitrack masters. Discs 1 and 2 cover “Sappy” up to track 4, the remainder of Disc 2 covers “Very Ape,” Disc 3 covers “Marijuana,” and Disc 4 covers “Penny Royal Tea.” While the Multitrack Master Series has already shocked fans with tracks like Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody,” these four NIRVANA tracks are a must-have for any enthusiast. Kurt’s vocal tracks, likely of greatest interest to fans, feature a parade of rare parts, including previously unreleased takes (please note that “Penny Royal Tea” is the only track that does not feature a lead vocal, as it was mastered immediately before the vocal track was recorded). Even the murmurs and throat clearings that were cut from the final mix are clearly audible. You’ll discover that the seemingly simple and straightforward guitar sound that symbolizes the 90s is the product of meticulous overdubbing with subtly altered settings.
