Description

Nirvana’s only concert in Argentina, recorded and broadcast at the time on both radio and television and now reissued on an unofficial LP by Cult Legends, took place on October 30, 1992, at the Vélez Sarsfield Stadium in Buenos Aires. It went down in history for what happened before and during the performance: the audience’s hostile attitude towards the female support band Calamity Jane, who were forced to leave the stage in tears under a barrage of stones, mud, and bottles, infuriated Kurt Cobain, who responded by revolutionizing the setlist, limiting himself to a nod to “Smells Like Teen Spirit” and avoiding the most famous songs in favor of obscure and little-known songs, including rarities included on the “Incesticide” compilation and a chaotic version of “Endless, Nameless.” A real sabotage with which the trio from Aberdeen (Washington) demonstrated once again their artistic integrity and an attitude that was anything but complacent.
