Pressed in digipak packaging by Rockin’ Bear Records, this unofficial CD documents a famous concert held by Nils Lofgren on August 18, 2001 in Asbury Park (New Jersey). On that occasion, the singer, songwriter and guitarist native of Chicago performed on the Stone Pony Summer Stage, showing off a brilliant performance recovered from one of the radio broadcasts that radiated the show in North America. Flanked by his band, which included bassist Wade Matthews, drummer Tim Biery and keyboardist Buck Brown, Lofgren delivered new songs like “I Found You” (from that year’s album, “Breakaway Angel”) and old favorites (including “Moon Tears,” “Believe” and “Like Rain” from Grin’s old catalog), fan favorites like “Black Books,” The Beatles’ “Any Time At All” and “Wreck On The Highway” by friend and bandleader Bruce Springsteen, who also joined him on the grand finale consisting of “If I Should Fall Behind,” Bobby Womack’s “It’s All Over Now,” John Lee Hooker’s “Boom Boom” and his own “Shine Silently” (written by Nils with fellow guitarist Dick Wagner).
