MILES DAVIS – TWO EXCITING SHOWS ON THE CORNER (2 CD)

Hannibal’s latest release features two must-listen live soundboard performances from the 1972 “On the Corner” era, both digitally remastered in 24-bit for the ultimate sound quality.

Disc 1 features a live performance from the Ann Arbor Blues & Jazz Festival held at Otis Spann Memorial Field in Ann Arbor on September 10th. Using the best existing soundboard master, this is the longest recording available, free of the audio gaps often associated with previous releases.
While there is a cut between “Honky Tonk” and “Black Satin,” the entire album is packed with must-listen material, including “Rated X,” recorded just four days earlier in a New York studio.

Disc 2 features the complete live performance held at Paul’s Mall in Boston on September 14th. Using the same high-quality stereo soundboard master as previously considered the “definitive” release, this release has been digitally remastered to deliver even more refined, superb sound quality.
As a bonus track, a hard-to-find 7-inch vinyl promo version of “Molester (Black Satin)” is included.

This “On the Corner” period featured a nine-piece band sound, including electric sitar and tabla players.
This must-have item for all fans features two performances that are undoubtedly the best takes from this period, both in terms of sound quality and performance content, coupled with the 7-inch promo version of “Molester” being released on CD for the first time!
