Description
In 1987, Jeff Beck participated in the recording of Mick Jagger’s second solo album, “Primitive Cool,” and the three outtakes that open this unofficial CD on the Blue Line label were drawn from the preparatory rehearsals, taped in New York in 1987 with GE Smith on rhythm guitar, Tim Stevens on bass, and Anton Fig on drums. The rest of the album features Jagger in concert, playing songs mainly from his subsequent album, “Wandering Spirit” (1993), including covers of Bill Withers’ “Use Me” and the “5” Royales’ “Think”; closing the set is a version of Rolling Stone’s “Rip This Joint.”
