From the brief opening “We’re Gonna Groove,” the rare intro to “Heartbreaker,” the pre-release performance of “Since I’ve Been Loving You,” the performance before the release of their third album, the brilliantly improvised “How Many More Times” medley, the high-energy “Whole Lotta Love,” and the blistering “Communication Breakdown”—this is a must-listen, must-listen live performance that truly captures the divine performances unique to early Led Zeppelin. Numerous releases have been made in various forms, including radio broadcasts, leaked soundboard recordings, and ultra-high-quality audience recordings comparable to soundboard recordings. However, many of these releases have been incomplete, and even complete edits have had varying sound quality. This new stereo remaster, featuring AI demixing of multiple sources into 8-channel multitracks, has undergone detailed restoration and restoration work, including noise removal and filling in imperfections, and each track has been newly balanced. This upgraded sound source delivers clearer, more balanced, and more three-dimensional vocals and instruments. Partially incomplete inter-song cuts and cuts during “WE’RE GONNA GROOVE” and “WHITE SUMMER/BLACK MOUNTAIN SIDE” have been repaired and restored, and unnatural sound quality variations have been eliminated. This complete version, featuring a completely different sound source from previous Montreux performances, is clearly distinct when compared to the latest edits.
