Description

This is the second part of a two-part series released simultaneously. It’s “1979 Part 2.” We’ve introduced three titles so far, but this week we’re looking at the “DYNASTY” era, which concludes the golden ’70s, with two titles released simultaneously on two discs each. For those of you who are experiencing the series for the first time, let’s start with a quick overview of the series so far.

VOLUME ONE: 1974-1976 (until the Destroyer era)
VOLUME TWO: 1976 (until the Rock and Roll Over era)
VOLUME THREE: 1977/1978 (until the solo era)
VOLUME FOUR: 1979 (Dynasty era part 1)
*VOLUME FIVE: 1979 (Dynasty era part 2) ←★This work★

●DISC 1: Chapter 1-2 “TV Report of the Louisville Performance (2 types)”
First up is a TV special reporting on the “September 16, 1979 Louisville Performance.” If you watch it continuously from the first part, “Shades 2539,” you might think, “What? The same video?” However, this is a different source, the actual broadcast “WHAS TV” version. This series is the best master produced and supervised by overseas KISS researchers, and the provided master was structured like this.

●DISC 1: Chapter 3-5 “TV Reports from the St. Louis Concert (3 Types)”
Next are three TV specials about the “St. Louis Concert on October 2, 1979.” The first is an interview, in which Gene appears without makeup, which was rare at the time. Of course, his face is hidden and he is facing away from the camera, which is typical of the 1970s, when secrecy was a thing. It’s hilarious to see Gene wearing sunglasses on the back of his head to make it look like he’s wearing one.

The second and third are the air check masters of the actual BBC program “Newsbeat.” In addition to the same no-makeup interview as above, you can see the live pro shots of the St. Louis performance.

Disc 1: Chapters 6-7: “TV Reports from the Abilene Show (Two Versions)”
The final episode of Disc 1 is “321 Contact,” a special report on the Abilene show on October 27, 1979. Highly praised by collectors as “the best footage from the DYNASTY era,” this legendary footage is packed with footage of the stage setup, backstage scenes, live performances, and interviews.

This work was recorded using two different masters, the first being the TV broadcast version, and the second being an unedited reel of all the material that was shot
.

●DISC 2: Chapter 1, “Tom Snyder’s Tomorrow Show,”
replaces Disc 2, which features a collection of TV programs from the latter half of “DYNASTY Tout.” First up is “Tom Snyder’s Tomorrow Show,” which aired on October 30, 1979. This is the legendary TV interview in which a drunk Ace Frehley rambles on and on. While a shortened version aired on the History Channel documentary, this release features the complete version, recorded from the master VHS. You’ll see all the funny moments.

●DISC 2: Chapter 2-3 “Dinah Shore Show” (2 versions)
Next up is the TV program “Dinah Shore Show with Billy Crystal’s KISS” from November 7, 1979. Shortly after her debut, Dinah Shore was interviewed by Billy Crystal, who was not yet a major movie star. This program was forgotten for many years and lost from TV archives, but this release features two different versions in perfect quality.

●DISC 2: Chapter 4-6 “TV Appearances at the End of the DYNASTY Era (3 Types)”
The DYNASTY era is finally coming to an end. This disc includes three TV programs that aired in December 1979. The first is a special program from West Germany’s NDR reporting on the Biloxi performance on December 12, 1979. Senior figure Alice Cooper also appears and speaks.

The second is a report on the final day of “DYNASTY Tout”, “December 12, 1979 Biloxi Performance”. Of course, it was also the final performance before Peter Criss left the band.

The third is a legendary interview with the Australian TV show “60 Minutes.” This interview also features the band discussing “Super KISS” and their involvement in “DYNASTY Tout,” as well as rare footage of live performances and behind-the-scenes footage.

■DISC 2: Chapters 7-8 “TV News Footage of Unknown Dates (2 Types)”
The finale of this work is two TV broadcast videos. Because the recording/broadcast dates are unknown, these have been included as bonus footage, but the video quality and content are superb. Both are KISS report segments from the news edition, and are masterpieces that allow you to realistically experience the excitement of the time.

This collection of 20 treasured videos spans 1 hour and 52 minutes. This is the second part of the “DYNASTY” two-part series, which concludes the 70s KISS video history series, all of which are provided by researchers and updated with the highest quality masters. Along with the previous “VOLUME ONE/TWO/THREE” and the simultaneously released first part, “VOLUME FIVE 1979 PART 1,” be sure to experience the golden 70s all at once!

The fifth installment in the treasured video collection series “KISSTORY.” This is the second installment of a series of two-disc sets covering the “DYNASTY” era, released simultaneously. All of the latest masters, all provided by researchers, offer a comprehensive look at the 1979 era that marked the end of the ’70s. This is the definitive edition that will transform your collection shelf into a repository of the “golden age of KISS.”
