Description
Gaumont Theatre, Ipswich, England 11th October 1984
Bruce Kulick’s first appearance in Europe in 1984. An upgraded master of the finest soundboard that pours the early, impulsive live performance into your brain has arrived! Released on a permanent preservation press CD!
This work is engraved with the “October 11, 1984 Ipswich Performance.” It is a superb stereo soundboard recording. Speaking of 1984, it was a turbulent period when Vinnie Vincent, Mark St. John, and Bruce Kulick were replaced in a matter of months. A slight difference in timing can completely change the meaning of the show, so let’s first look at the position of this work based on the schedule at that time.

[A shocking upgrade master with no flaws]
This is KISS from 1984/1985. The album “ANIMALIZE” was produced with Mark St. John, but he developed arthritis during subsequent tour rehearsals. He was unable to participate in the actual tour, and Bruce Kulick took the stage instead. This Ipswich performance was the 10th performance of the “European” leg, which was also the beginning of that world tour. Our shop also has a classic soundboard from the “European” leg, “ANIMALIZE AT THE APOLLO THE WESTWOOD ONE MASTER (Zodiac 719),” but this work is six days later (five performances later).
This show was broadcast on the famous program “Friday Rock Show” and has been a staple that has produced numerous previously released groups. This work is also the same FM sound board, but the quality is completely different from the conventional one. It is the highest peak updated master newly excavated by our own related route! The sound is unquestionably “completely official class”. Not only is it the best of the past on the same day, but it even surpasses the masterpiece “ANIMALIZE AT THE APOLLO THE WESTWOOD ONE MASTER”.
In fact, there’s nothing to complain about with this new master. Previously, there was an undeniable thinness and dubbing marks due to reception conditions, and in the worst cases, there were even records where the sound pressure was increased to the point of disguising the deterioration. However, this work is super vivid yet super natural. There is no slight disturbance in the sound, no dubbing marks, and no sense of compression that is common in digital distribution. And because there is no need to disguise the deterioration, there is no sense of processing, and the sound output unique to the 1980s flows out exactly as it is, transcending time and space.
[An absolute live album, even with rare tracks not included in the official footage]
However, even though the sound was flawless, not everything was perfect. That’s the recording time. The sound board for this day was only an FM broadcast, and it didn’t exceed the broadcast limit. That said, the approximately 52-minute listening experience is comparable to a regular album, and the selection is different from the official footage “ANIMALIZE LIVE UNCENSORED” and the press masterpiece “ANIMALIZE AT THE APOLLO.” Finally, let’s organize the set contents.
●80s (7 songs)
CREATURES OF THE NIGHT / I Still Love You / I Love It Loud / Creatures of the Night
/ LICK IT UP: Fits Like A Glove
/ ANIMALIZE: Heaven’s On Fire / Under the Gun / I’ve Had Enough (Into The Fire) (★)
●70s (4 songs)
Detroit Rock City / Cold Gin / Strutter (★) / Love Gun
*Note: Songs marked with “★” were not included in the official “ANIMALIZE LIVE UNCENSORED.” Songs marked with “*” were not included in “ANIMALIZE AT THE APOLLO THE WESTWOOD ONE MASTER.”
…And so it goes like this. The most notable feature is the new song from “ANIMALIZE,” “I’ve Had Enough (Into The Fire).” Not only is it not included in the official video “ANIMALIZE LIVE UNCENSORED,” but it’s also a limited edition song that hasn’t been performed since this tour. You can enjoy it with a completely official sound that surpasses even “ANIMALIZE AT THE APOLLO.” This alone makes it an absolute treasure.
Anyway, the sound quality is outstanding. It is a superb new excavation master that combines a natural feeling and a sense of work among the many sound boards. It is an absolute live album that has evolved to the same level as the official “ANIMALIZE LIVE UNCENSORED”. Please enjoy it anytime, anywhere with a press CD that will never lose its brilliance!
