Parthenon Theatre, Hammond, IN, USA 18th October 1974 STEREO SBD
KISS in 1974 conquered the world with constant tours, releasing “KISS” and “HOTTER THAN HELL” in succession. A new soundboard masterpiece that pours that fierce live performance into your brain is born!
This work permanently preserves the “October 18, 1974 Hammond Performance.” This is a stereo soundboard recording. We archive as many masterpieces as possible from the golden age of the 1970s, but the early days are particularly popular. 1974 was the time when the “KISS Tour” and “HOTTER THAN HELL Tour” switched with only a slight difference in date, so let’s first take a look at the position of this work by summarizing the activities at that time (while organizing our collection).

This is KISS in 1974/1975. The Hammond performance in this work was the second concert immediately after the start of the “HOTTER THAN HELL Tour”. The release date of the album “HOTTER THAN HELL” was “October 22nd”, and this work was just four days before that.
A top-quality soundboard from this show was leaked about 15 years ago. Among KISS collectors, it was even called “the biggest discovery of 2010!” This work is a new masterpiece based on that superb soundboard and expanded to full size. I suddenly wrote “based on,” but in fact, the soundboard from this day was incomplete. The opening two songs, “Deuce” and “Strutter,” were not recorded, and it started halfway through the third song, “Got to Choose.” This work complements the missing parts with the soundboard audio from the pro-shot “SAN FRANCISCO JANUARY 1975 (January 31).” It is tailored to be a full live album.
And the result is astonishing! To answer your question, “2:25” on “Got to Choose” is the point where the two masters switch, but there’s absolutely no sense of incongruity. Even if you listen carefully with headphones, paying close attention to the seconds, you won’t notice the switch. Of course, it’s not a simple connection; the sound images are brought as close as possible through meticulous mastering, but I can’t remember ever having such a natural, unnoticeable connection.
Of course, simply having no sense of incongruity is meaningless, and the quality itself that penetrates the full show size is intense. If you are familiar with the original outflow master, you will understand, but unlike broadcasts, it is clearly a direct sound board recorded directly from the mix desk, and the cheers are only a distant whisper, and the extremely thick and ferocious live performance is completely exposed. It is rough and rough, but never noisy. It is a super-synchronized sound board that embodies the ideal form of an outflow master.
The extremely thick sound is depicted as a full show that is different from “SAN FRANCISCO JANUARY 1975”. Finally, let’s organize the contents.

…And that’s how it went. As mentioned above, this day was right after the start of the “HOTTER THAN HELL Tour.” The set was centered around the first album, with new songs from the second and third albums sprinkled throughout. “Let Me Go, Rock And Roll” and “She” had already become standard since they had been playing them since 1973, but “Got to Choose” and “Parasite” are also the oldest live performances in existence.
Although it was a separate performance, it is a new masterpiece of the sound board that has been elevated to the masterpiece of the “HOTTER THAN HELL Tour” by complementing the first two songs. Even in the early KISS era, it is an exceptionally high-end full live album. Please enjoy it anytime and forever with a press CD that will never lose its brilliance.
★A stereo soundboard recording of the second performance of the “HOTTER THAN HELL Tour,” “October 18, 1974, Hammond.” While the soundboard was of a high quality, the first two songs were missing, but the sound was complemented by the classic pro shot from the same “HOTTER THAN HELL Tour,” “SAN FRANCISCO JANUARY 1975.” This is a new masterpiece expanded into a full live album. The finish, with no clear switching points, is impressive, and the direct-mix-table sound that permeates the entire album is also powerful. Even the oldest tracks, “Got to Choose” and “Parasite,” offer plenty of delicious, intense live performances.
