The Palladium, New York City, NY, USA 22nd July 1981 STEREO SBD
★UPGRADE!!!
The ambitious “WORLD WIDE BLITZ Tour” soundboard trilogy is finally complete! This is the ultimate album, created by “GRAF ZEPPELIN” with the highest peak update master!
This work permanently preserves the “July 22, 1981 New York City Performance.” It is a stereo soundboard recording recorded at the famous venue “Palladium.” Speaking of the 1981 soundboard, the press masterpieces “DEFINITIVE CHICAGO 1981 (Zodiac 322)” and “COMPLETE HAMMERSMITH 1981: SOUNDBOARD” reign as the two greatest peaks, but this work is the final installment following them. First, let’s confirm the relative positions of each from an overview of the activities at that time.

[A new natural master that updates the highest peak]
This is the overall picture of the “WORLD WIDE BLITZ Tour” accompanying “POINT OF ENTRY.” At the time, they were in the midst of a serious invasion of the US. Numerous radio broadcasts were also realized, making it the largest soundboard production period in JUDAS PRIEST history. Among them, the three works mentioned above were completely official in terms of both length and quality, that is, the soundboard trilogy mentioned at the beginning (note that detailed soundboards other than the trilogy can be found in our “THE BLITZ COLLECTION 1981 [Shades 905]”).

The Palladium performance is also known for being broadcast on FM, and is a classic among classics that has produced numerous pre-existing works. This work is the latest and highest peak update. Previously, the best was our “DEFINITIVE BLITZ 1981” version, but this work is different from the source. Previously, it was digitized from the original broadcast master, but this work is not even a master. It is a digital master that leaked from the original.
The sound is dynamic and natural. While previous masters pushed the sound pressure to its peak, this new master is so beautiful and clear that it’s unnecessary. The dynamic range remains wide and extremely wide, with no trace of pressure pressure. Fine details are beautifully rendered, and there are no signs of compression that would otherwise taint the sound. Only four tracks were included in the official box set “50 Heavy Metal Years of Music,” but this one has even better clarity.
[The longest sound board album in the trilogy]
Such a sound beyond official is drawn as the longest full show among the three major sound boards. Let’s organize it by comparing it here.

…And so it goes. After the reunion, they started reissuing rare songs, but “Solar Angels,” “Hot Rockin’,” and “You Don’t Have To Be Old To Be Wise” still hit the spot with their original key/80s potential, and are truly moving.
Please note that there are versions on the Internet that include “Genocide,” “Exciter,” and “The Ripper,” but these are just copies of the official “IN THE EAST” version. Of course, this work is 100% Palladium performance soundboard only, and it is the longest version that also includes MCs that were cut from some masters.
The release of their follow-up album, “Wings of Vengeance,” was a huge hit, likely due to the success of the full-scale North American leg of the “WORLD WIDE BLITZ Tour.” This album permanently preserves the most important live performance in PRIEST’s history. It’s a record that permanently preserves the Palladium performance, the longest of the soundboard trilogy, with the highest peak sound. This is the birth of an absolute live album that you absolutely must experience.
★Stereo soundboard recording of the “July 22, 1981 New York performance.” GRAF ZEPPELIN has created a top-of-the-line updated version of the leaked digital master, surpassing the conventional broadcast master. It offers a wider dynamic range and a wider, more natural sound than ever before. This is the longest and highest quality absolute edition of the “WORLD WIDE BLITZ Tour,” the largest soundboard production period in history.
