Description

A rare recording from the St. Louis performance of the Black Cats’ US tour, featuring the Black rhythm section from the recording of ‘QUE SERA SERA’, captured in excellent stereo audience recording!~

This rare recording captures a live performance at the Mississippi Nights, a club in St. Louis, Missouri with a capacity of approximately 1000 people, from the US tour undertaken by the Black Cats in their three-piece style, featuring the Black rhythm section Keith Jon & Tony St. Helen from

the time of the album ‘QUE SERA SERA’ release, captured in excellent stereo audience recording! All parts, including the vocals, are recorded with good balance, and the sound quality is quite good for the time. Furthermore, pitch deviations caused by the master have been carefully corrected.

There is a gap of a few seconds in the intro of Too Much Junkie Business due to a tape change, but otherwise there are no problems. From the album “Que Sera Sera,” released in August of the previous year, two songs, “MIA” and “Blame It On Mom,” were selected. The set also included a cover of Wilson Pickett’s signature song “In The Midnight Hour,” which was played at their Japan tour, a cover of Bo Diddley’s “I Can Tell,” which has been played since the Heartbreakers days, and “Cosa Nostra,” an instrumental number originally included on the acoustic album “Hurt Me,” which was performed in a vocal version with lyrics from Chicago blues giant Howlin’ Wolf’s famous song “Spoonful.” The blues number “St. Louis Blues,” which was performed at every show on this tour with improvised lyrics related to the location, was also played. The set concluded with Chuck Berry’s “Little Queenie,” allowing you to fully enjoy a 90-minute long set!
