Description

Rockin’ Bear Records brings together on an unofficial CD and digipak a series of spectacular collaborations by the Man In Black, taken in part from the famous television program “Johnny Cash Show” which aired on the American network ABC between 1969 and 1971. Joni Mitchell duets with the Arkansas artist on the latter’s classic “I Still Miss Someone”, on Bob Dylan’s “Girl From The North Country” and the traditional “Long Black Veil”, Roy Orbison on his hit “Pretty Woman”, Stevie Wonder on “Get Rhythm” (another Johnny classic), Linda Ronstadt on “Deep Water” and James Taylor on the standard “Oh Susannah”. In “Matchbox” Carl Perkins (author of the song and also a member of the legendary Million Dollar Quartet) shares the stage with Cash, Eric Clapton and Derek and the Dominos while another “guitar hero”, Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top, takes part in the performance of “I Witnessed A Crime” (the studio version of which was released in 1993 on the album “American Outtakes”). The twenty-song setlist is completed by lesser-known songs from Cash’s vast catalogue.
