Description
Released on Expensive Woodland Recordings, this unofficial two-LP set (on black vinyl) features a famous radio show: the concert Johnny Cash held at Irving Plaza in New York on September 7, 1996, a few months before the release of his album “Unchained.” From this album, the “Man in Black,” accompanied on some tracks by his wife June Carter Cash, previews Jude Johnston’s title track, Beck’s “Rowboat,” Soundgarden’s “Rusty Cage,” Tom Petty’s “Southern Accents” and Dean Martin’s “Memories Are Made Of This,” alongside his great classics such as “Folsom Prison Blues,” “Get Rhythm,” “I Walk The Line,” “Ring Of Fire” and “Big River,” Kris Kristofferson’s “Sunday Morning Coming Down,” the standards “Ghost Riders In The Sky” and “Orange Blossom Special,” and Allen’s “Working In A Coal Mine.” Toussaint and brought to success by Lee Dorsey. One of the best concerts of the elderly Cash, regenerated by Rick Rubin’s care.
