Limited to just 500 numbered copies, this unofficial LP pressed on blue vinyl features the recording of the charity “late show” that John Lennon and the Plastic Ono Elephant’s Memory Band performed at Madison Square Garden in New York City on August 30, 1972, to raise funds for the Willowbrook State School for Retarded Children. Featuring drummer Jim Keltner and a band featuring Wayne “Tex” Gabriel (lead guitar), Gary Van Scyoc (bass), John Ward (bass), Stan Bronstein (saxophone), Adam Ippolito (piano), and Richard Frank Jr. (drums), Lennon (vocals, rhythm guitar, piano, and Wurlitzer 200a electric piano) and Yoko Ono (vocals, piano, Wurlitzer 200a electric piano, percussion)
, they perform nine songs that include the militant new hits “Instan Karma (We All Shine On),” “Imagine,” and “Give Peace A Chance,” the raw “Mother” and “Cold Turkey,” the Beatles-esque “Come Together,” and the Elvis Presley classic “Hound Dog.”
