This CD set features two live performances from Joe Cocker’s 1976 concerts, backed by STUFF, digitally remastered in 24-bit from the stereo soundboard master. The first half is from the Philadelphia show on May 1, 1976, and the second half is from the Tulsa show on March 28, 1976. Both shows feature every track, from the opening STUFF instrumental to the encore “With A Little Help From My Friends,” in stunning audio quality. The discs have been meticulously remastered by the label, eliminating any noise or distortion present on the original masters, making them truly worthy of being called “definitive editions.” While the setlist, centered around tracks from the album “Stingray” released that same year, remains largely unchanged between the two shows, the performances showcase Joe in the prime of his ’70s, backed by STUFF, with all members except Chris Parker in attendance. Both shows are equally impressive. Of course, the opening jam by STUFF, which was given nearly 10 minutes, is a must-listen, and fans will be sure to faint, especially Billy Preston’s “Nothin’ From Nothin”!
